I first saw Dark Suns in live when they toured as the first part of Dream Theater. I was astonished by the drummer singing...
Several years later, I'm buying the CD ans I must say I am surprised how good it is. It's very dark and progressive and Dark Suns have definitely their own touch about this. Give it a try!

Great Addition To Any Collection,

I bought this CD expecting something along the lines of Opeth. Although I have a hard time linking this album to Opeth, I still enjoyed listening to the CD. The sound is closer to something like Riverside.
The songs "Flies in Amber" and "Amphibian Halo" are my personal favorites. The vocals are great and the production quality of the CD in general is awesome. The entire album appears to be set upon a dark atmospheric blanket, which makes the songs flow from one to the next. The only disappointment came at the end. The album ends and I get this feeling of "its already over?" After the first time through the album, I actually looked at the total playing time of the album and discovered it to be just short of an hour. That was the shortest hour I've ever seen. I guess I was waiting for some grand finale that never came. This album is a solid four stars and a great addition to any Prog collection. |
