Grave Results is a horror novel about the relationship between three women--two sisters and a daughter--and their struggle to keep evil forces from overtaking their lives. Emily Mitchell, the main character, has just accepted a job with a high pressure advertising firm, has purchased a condo unit in Chelsea Towers, located in the Tribecca Section of Manhattan and is making plans for her future. All of her plans go haywire when her alcoholic sister asks her to take in her daughter Tracie, a Gothick, because her new husband cannot stand the teen. Hence a clash of lifestyles between Emily and Tracie. Emily also has to contend with a corporate back stabber at work who is stealing her choicest accounts. To add to Emily's misery, the seemingly dysfunctional family in the penthouse adjoining her condo have been dead for three centuries, but exist due to allegiance with dark forces. The family is not only disturbing Emily's way of life, they are making plans for her future. This is part one. Grave Results Two--Blood Rites is completed and will be published in the near future.

Edwina Berkman, aka Dana Reed, has seven novels published by Dorchester under their Leisure Books line, is an investigative journalist who has written hundreds of articles and had her own column on several occasions. She is a state and county certified teaching instructor who has taught Creative Writing and Journalism to Adult Ed classes in public schools, libraries and on America Online. I'm the author of 16 published novels: 11 horror, 2 romantic thrillers, 2 mystery novels that are part of a continuing series and a text on creative writing. In the past I've worked as an investigative reporter on a newspaper and had my own column. I've also worked as a licensed teacher in Adult Ed classes in high schools, libraries and on AOL, teaching creative writing and journalism. However, out of all of this my favorite activities are meeting people at book signings, conventions, answering questions, listening to their opinions on novels. Most people are great and a joy to meet.

Dana Reed is, by far, one of the best horror writers of our time. I loved Grave Results. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I did not want to put it down. In two nights I consumed the entire book. It scared the hell out of me, like many of her books have. I hope there is a sequel!

The psychological suspense and horror in this novel keep you turning those pages, yet make you almost afraid to. A must read, but with the lights on!! I've read most of Reed's novel and get the same chills from all of them. Sincerely, Laura Koutny
