Theodore Chase is past president of the New England Historic Genealogical Society, longtime keeper of the cabinet of the Massachusetts Historical Society, former president of the Association for Gravestone Studies, and past editor of its journal Markers. Laurel K. Gabel is a trustee of the Association for Gravestone Studies, head of its research department, and a frequent national speaker on gravestone research.
