4.0 out of 5 stars HAVE A DRINK ON ME
For one think, most might think that I am crazy for giving this album 4 stars. I can explain. This is an absolute gift for metal fans. First off, lets remember that we are reviewing a COVER album. 2.0 out of 5 stars Everything on this is decent, EXCEPT the vocals
The beginnings of these songs aren't that bad, but when the vocals come in, it's ruined. Chris sounds like he's out of breath and trying to force the words out(lay off the pot). One thing that I think Six Feet Under should do is get a second guitarist. If you want to get a good metal tribute/cover album, get Iced Earth's Tribute to the Gods.

For one think, most might think that I am crazy for giving this album 4 stars. I can explain. This is an absolute gift for metal fans. First off, lets remember that we are reviewing a COVER album. So its not fair to be so cruel on the band for putting out this release. Most of us SFU fans know that AC/DC had a huge influence on Chris Barnes and company, and putting a full cover album of Back in Black in genius. I love almost every single song on this album, as I enjoy the effort SFU put every song, and trying to play it as crushing and heavy as possible. OK OK, everyone complains that the guitar work is lame, and Barnes vocals suck...Hey, did you expect a death metal band to sing. Barnes growls and grunts are the reason most of us are fans. Second, for the guitar work. Steve Swawson isnt exactly Angus Young, so I didnt expect the hear blaring AC/DC solos in this effort. What we have hear is a nice solid, heavy in your face version of Back in Black which could only be pulled off by SFU. Enjoy it for what is is worth.! And just another note, how many of you would agree that Garage Days Re-REvisted, the 5.98 EP was one of Metallicas best? And no I dont mean the garage days they released a few years ago, but the orginal in 1987. Have fun with this one.>...

This album is gotta be one of the worst metal albums of all time. Pure crap!!! I loved Graveyard Classics, but this just horrifying to listen to. This is the best that they could do? It is very laughable. Just not good. Why on earth would you cover a whole album!?! Why not cover an array of artists instead of one? No original thought put into this piece of filth. Thank the metal gods they redeemed themselves with "13".

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, but Hillarious, December 1, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Graveyard Classics 2 (Audio CD)
This has to be the worst CD I have ever heard... That said, I recommend people buy it because it really is hillarious. As an AC/DC fan that grew up listening to "Back in Black" for years and one who views it as one of the best albums of all time, I find this rendition to be about as bad as it gets... but in a funny way. The guitar and bass are excellent, the pitch, tone and rythym are spot-on... and then there is the singing...

I can't describe the shock I received after hearing the opening guitar riff of You Shook Me All Night Long that was killer, only to break out in uncontrollable laughter when the singer started singing the song in this gruff low distorted voice that sounded like utter tripe. The difference between the AC/DC original and Six Feet Under's is primarily measured by this alone, as the other components are commendable. That voice though... oh - my - god... just terrible. So in short if you are looking for good vocals look *anywhere* else, but if you are looking for a good laugh or gag gift for that AC/DC fan in your life, then this is a must buy!

3.0 out of 5 stars ..is...it a joke?, March 25, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Graveyard Classics 2 (Audio CD)
So i recently just got into Six Feet Under, i really like em to, and as one of the other reviewers said, i bout this in a *13* special edition set..so this cd just came free so i was like well okay i guess its worth it. I get in the car and listen to it..hey..its AcDc..hey..the whole cd is Back in Black..hmmm..sounds good..really good, the intruments were right on..and then...Chris Barnes starts growling..no matter what anyone says..it does NOT at all fit in with the music, to hear him try and sings these notes Angus does..and..ahhh dude wtf? AcDc was a rock n roll band..not a death metal slit your sisters throat band, It would be Alot Better if Chris Barnes actually was SINGING, but..he ruins it..the only reason i give it 3 stars is cuz the intruments are awesome and straight on.

PS, im not saying Chris Barnes sucks, not at all, "13" is a GREAT cd, so go check that out to actually hear what they really are

3.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, October 6, 2005
This review is from: Graveyard Classics 2 (Audio CD)
I've been a fan of SFU for going o 6 years now. As most fans know they sing about rotting corpses and necrophilia. But in this one, its a bunch of Ac/Dc covers. The first song Hell's Bells kicked A$$! I liked their riffs better then Ac/Dc's for that song. The funniest part is when Chris Barnes sings "You shook me all night long" in death metal. I laughed through the entire song. If you want to pick up this album, buy it used, but don't pay the full price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Smoke alot of weed before buying this album..., January 3, 2005

... Or you realize how horrible it realy is. I think the reason why people get into six feet under in the first place is because the smoke to much weed so they realy listing to sfu and think wow this is good. Realy tho? Listing to the vocals? It sounds like Chris has a d*ck stuck on his throught and the music is realy horrible almost impossible to bear. Well, six feet under's "graveyard classics 2" was a mistake and if any band should've re-recorded those songs? It shoulnd' have been sfu ,at all. Dont waste you money on trash.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless, January 24, 2005
This review is from: Graveyard Classics 2 (Audio CD)
It's getting far too easy to trash SFU these days, and when they continue to make truly awful, awful albums, it's just like fishing with dynamite. When I interviewed Chris Barnes a few years back he was so stoned I could barely understand him and when I asked him about the first 'Graveyard Classics' he just sort of laughed. I wish I could have found something to laugh about in it, just as I wish I could laugh at this horrendous waste of time. It gets harder and harder to believe that half of these guys were once members of some of the greatest death metal bands of all time and it annoys me that someone at Metal Blade let them record this album. 'Graveyard Classics 2' is AC/DC's 'Back in Black' album covered in its entirety. I don't need to tell you what it's like. Six Feet Under made an absolute mockery of some of the best songs of all time with their first covers package, and with their second they've done the same to an entire album that still ranks to this day as one of the greatest ever recorded. This is so bad it isn't even deplorable and Six Feet Under have sunk so low with its release that snakes would slide over them with ease.

2.0 out of 5 stars A star for likeing AC/DC and a second for learning their songs., July 14, 2005
This review is from: Graveyard Classics 2 (Audio CD)
I say whats important first, Six Feet Under is not death metal. Now then lets review. AC/DC let loose on a lil ditty known as Back in Black, and quite the succsesful impact it made. I give thanks to SFU for having the DC love, but keep it in your living room, DC wasn't ment to be heard this way. Though if a jr. higher is looking for a groove to impress with here you go. Maybe you'll get lucky and pick up on classic rock. But hopefully you will grow out of the umm pop rock stage that Six Feet Under has been crowned the apitimy of since 1995.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just a bad idea, October 20, 2004
By
This review is from: Graveyard Classics 2 (Audio CD)
It would be malicious to feces to call this record crap. The tones, the performance and the laughable vocals will go down as one of the worst metal has to offer. At a time when young bands are comming up with great new ideas in a oft-stagnant genre - SFU takes the safe step back to their roots. I see no reason for this to be made. Simple but classic rock in the hands of uninspired artists just can't be done with good results. You can't fake grit and sincerity and when you try the results are extremely painful. Feed a puppy, buy a gyro - do anything with that money besides rewarding these culprits for defaming great music. This is a total shark sandwich and a complete embarrasment for metal in general. A shame
