Having read this trilogy, gravity takes on a whole new meaning. I love the way Cherie injects the strength of the gravitational pull of love and makes it a force for good. Even though each story mainly includes aliens - ahem, outer space aliens - there is the constant evidence of the universality of love. I would certainly read the trilogy again.

Imaginative and fun, I really enjoyed this romp through the galaxy and a glimpse at Earth's future. This author has a great way with characters. Although all three stories were enjoyable, I especially liked the last. I look forward to reading more of Cherie Reich's work.

Three science fiction novelettes come together in this one book and all three stories revolve around a central theme, falling in love against all odds. One of the things I enjoyed in each story was Cherie's worldbuilding. I was easily transported to her various worlds, from the barren and dying planet of Medusa, to the rich and glistening purple beaches of the Cupidian world. Cherie does an equally amazing job creating her alien species, vastly different but all must overcome tremendous obstacles in the fight for survival and love. Overall, the book is very well written, the action sequences keep you riveted to the page and each story had a character that I fell in love with. I also enjoyed seeing how each of these three stories overlapped by the end and hope Cherie decides to continue this series, or maybe expanded on the trilogy to write a longer piece.

Defying Gravity is a rare gem in the vast sci-fi universe. It nabbed me from the beginning with two fascinating characters starting great adventures themselves. Linia is a sweet young alien with a high intelligence yet little experience outside of her lovely and safe home world of Persea. Alezandros comes from a hard life on Medusa and seeks something better for himself and his family. Linia and Alezandros are suddenly thrown together when their peoples battle and a wormhole swallows them, causing them to crash into a post-apocalyptic earth. Captured by humans, they must work together to escape, and only by reading the story will you get to find out the explosive conclusion!

Fighting Gravity starts you off right in the middle of the action, and I was on the edge of my seat through the whole thing. The image Cherie paints of an Earth hit by an asteroid is harsh and dismal, but not without hope. Marissa has the light of hope in her heart. She's sweet and compassionate, and though she's rightfully afraid, she has the courage to do what's necessary when the time comes. Phoebus is from a cold and war-hungry people who make themselves into something more by infusing themselves with daimons. It's fascinating and terrifying at the same time. The Aresians are a complex culture and the daimons a mystery. This aspect really intrigued me because I didn't know what Phoebus' daimon would do next. This story is light on the romance, so I believe sci-fi and dark fantasy fans will love it.

Pulling Gravity is my favorite book in Cherie's Gravity collection. It's not as dark and gritty as the previous two. It's full of wonder and colorful imagery that made me fall in love with Cupidis as Nike did. Cherie's descriptions are beautifully written and left me in awe.
