2.0 out of 5 stars Not like the others, November 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I would not buy or recommend these gravity defyers to anyone, friend or enemy. I have purchased 3 other pairs, 1 which is phenomenal, another that clicks in the right heel and drives me crazy, and a third that leaks sticky gel from the GF label inside the shoe. These specific shoes (Sonoma Casual) are ridiculously uncomfortable. It's strange to me that this same brand, GF, makes several different shoes of which none act the same.

1.0 out of 5 stars Review on Gravity Defyer as a company, January 27, 2010
Let me start off by saying this is a review of the company Gravity Defyer, and not of this particular shoe. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes from GD in October 2009. One pair came fairly quickly, and the other pair ... discontinued, which is a recurring theme with this company. I had originally ordered the Topanga for my husband, then the Astein, then the Sonoma, then the Centurian, and then the Javelin. I found out much later that ALL of these shoes have been discontinued! The most recent frustration occurred when I ordered the Centurian on 01/06/2010 and when I called the company to find out why I hadn't received it yet, I was told they were discontinued, even though when I ordered them on the phone they were "in stock". Unbelievably irritating. I was told I could choose another pair. However, I hate all of the other styles. You would think after I chose 5 different styles, that 1 of them could have actually been an option and not all discontinued. The communication between the customer service reps and the warehouse is inaccurate, if not absent all together. I have made more phone calls to this company in the last month, trying to get a pair of shoes in my hands for my husband (about 8 calls in all). I have left voicemails to a supervisor and sent e-mails, all of which have gone unanswered. This is the worst business I have encountered with the worst customer service I have ever seen. I would not recommend this company to anyone unless they really enjoy disappointment, dissatisfaction and extreme frustration. It was one thing to find out that all of choices were discontinued, but in this last instance, it took 3 WEEKS for them to realize that and tell me about it, and I had to call them every day and hassle them before I got this information. With the first couple of pairs I chose for my husband, I kept being told over and over that they were on back order and would come in the next shipment 2 weeks later. Finally, it came out that they weren't backordered, but discontinued. These people have no idea what is going on in their warehouse, what stock they have, etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gravity defyer sonoma, September 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Here are some pros I've noticed after wearing these shoes: shoes look good, improves your posture, gives a noticeably softer step, gives a little height bonus (about an inch)

and some cons: red coloring from the inside rubs off on socks, sometimes shoes will make a funny noise when you are walking with them, for the first couple days your toes will be really tired because the shoes put a lot of pressure on the front of your foot.

In conclusion I wouldn't pay over $90 for these shoes, luckily i got them for $50 and i think they were well worth $50. The quality isn't the best, especially for such an expensive shoe and despite what their ad claims it doesn't really feel like walking on air. However it is still better than walking with a normal shoe. I'd recommend this only if you can find a good deal or if you are crazy rich.

UPDATE: I've had these shoes for about 9 months now and they are starting to fall apart. Due to this I dropped 1 star from my rating but I still wear them most days.

1.0 out of 5 stars Company is terrible, April 7, 2010

I ordered a pair from them directly online. Got a conformation they had shipped and a tracking number. Every time I checked the tracking number on the UPS site it said not in transit yet. I did an online chat with them (India support) and they gave me same info that was on their website, useless, and was told to call customer service. After a 35 minute wait somebody answered and told me they had shut the warehouse down for one week and my shoes would ship out on following Monday. I kept checking the tracking number. Nothing for another week. So I called them back and this time after a 40 minute wait was told they will ship out soon but not sure when, and they were not polite about telling me that, like I should be thrilled to be their customer. So I tried to cancel the order and they gave me a hard time about that but finally did so. I am now watching my credit card statement to see if they are telling the truth about that. Bottom line, do not buy from Gravity Defyer , the company is very misleading.

1.0 out of 5 stars These shoes are SO uncomfortable after you wear them awhile, August 2, 2010
This review is from: Gravity Defyers Men's Sonoma Casual Tie (Apparel)
I have heel pain in both my feet and saw an ad for these shoes about how they put a spring in your step...thought I would try them. It took me three tries to get a pair that fit because the sizes are not consistant (you are not refunded shipping or handling fees). One pair was labeled as the same size I usually wear, but one shoe fit and the other shoe was WAY too big. I was frustrated working with customer service because it is outsourced to India and they weren't really very helpful. I was determined to get a pair however, because the info I read said they helped my particular foot problems. I finally got a pair that fit acceptably (they are a bit too big but after three tries the shipping/handling fees were eating me up!). The thing is, when you first try them on you do feel the springiness, and I was sure these shoes would help my feet. I've been wearing them about a month and have finally retired them to the back of my closet. A clicking sound developed in one of the heels that drives me crazy. The shoes are not well designed and if you'll look under the shoe's insert you'll see that the joint where the upper shoe is connected to the soul creates a ledge. I didn't examine the shoes that carefully at first and didn't notice this until I developed a sore on the bottom of my foot, right below my small toe. These shoes are SO uncomfortable after you wear them daily for several weeks. Please be careful of buying this product.

I've bought five pairs of Gravity Defyer shoes. I paid the most for this style and it's the most uncomfortable.

1.0 out of 5 stars spring shoes, December 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The shoes are sized on the small side. I have problems with my feet hurting on concrete. These shoes are not any better than any other shoes. I would not buy them again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Company non-service, September 10, 2010
By
I ordered online, got a receipt (paid extra for ups two day air.) I received a notice of my order, address correct, cc number correct. No shoes. Called the company, they said, after I made my way to a supervisor, that the 'order was pending' thus despite an accepted order, and a charge to my card, there was no hope of two day delivery. Although they had a correct e-mail address and a phone number, no attempt was made to let me know.
They did agree to refund the two day delivery and charge the regular ground rate (but, naturally, the intelligent thing to do would have been to give me the two day anyway. That didn't occur to them, and since I was going out of town, two day or ten day would make no difference, so I let it slide.
Suggest you skip doing business with these guys, they just don't get it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Heavy shoes, March 31, 2010
The concept is interesting, however is too heavy so you will feel pain on your toe and you back toe.

Also the company raise the price at the beginning and then they liquidate the soes for couple of dollars, so has no commercial value when you purchase this kind of shoes.
