Worth a try,

The new songs are nowhere near the quality of Bloodlust Revenge, or even Absolve, but its great Rob came back for one more stab. The addition of the Absolve EP is awesome. Its OKD still in their infancy, but still brutal. MUCH better than God Loves, Man Kills, but unfortunately takes some of the noisecore from that album, which OKD does not do very well.

What the hell were they thinking? Mixing God Loves Man Killswith Bloodlust Revenge? This is o.k., if you buy it you are not wasting your money. But seriously, this should not be on the top of your list. One King Down, did not do an awesome job, mediocre at the most. The music and vocals don't fit. I like it more that God Loves Man Kills. Mediocre.

With the M-U-C-H welcome return of Rob Fusco back on vocals OKD are set to take the hardcore world by storm once again. It's been nearly 4 years since the release of "Bloodlust Revenge" (I consider "God Loves..." to be nothing more than a speed bump in their career), and their songwriting has matured a great deal. The song structures will bring to mind Snapcase and Quicksand at times and the lyrics, while still angry, have taken on a broader and more personal spectrum rather than the typical "vegan sXe" fare. The songs are not as immediately catchy as, say, "More Hate Than Fear", but after a few listens they grow on the listener and demand a little more of the listener - which is a good thing. The CD also includes the long out-of-print "Absolve" ep wich was originally released on Trainwreck Records out of Albany in '95. It features original OKD vocalist Bill Brown (aka Des). I found it interesting that there is no mention of Bill Brown's name anywhere on the CD, but oh well. The stand out track here is "Nine Eyes" which OKD used to open all their shows with. If you were able to see them between '95 and '97, then you know the one - it's all rhythmic build up then, "ONE KING DOWN!". So simple, but so, SO effective! Now we just have to wonder if and when OKD and Equal Vision are ever going to re-release the "Jawbreaker" demo. "Crush the Weak" needs to see the light of day again!

this cd was well awaited for! this isn't as good as bloodlust, but it's got the old out of print 'absolve' cd on it, which just makes it all good! OKD!

I don't like the "Real" One King Down,

I know that "God Loves Man Kills" did not have the original singer of One King Down, but I must say it is the only album that sounded professional, original, and bad ass. This album is back to One King Down's roots as they now have their original singer back. And with the original singer comes their armature basement recorded like sound again. If you like the old school hard core sound this album may be for you, however, I am wishing the "God Loves Man Kills" singer reunites at some point.
