Book Description

In Gray Area, book II of The Mothers of Glendale Series, book V of the Glendale novels, Carla (Cordel) Martens is finally remarried with a new faith, a successful career, and is back at home in the city that she loves. However, when a charming new partner comes to her law firm, she finds an unexpected friendship that fulfills a previously unfulfilled need. Carla soon realizes that she may not be as content with her new life as she had thought. As she comes face to face with Truth and is extended an invitation that she isn't sure she's ready to accept, she realizes choices that are neither black nor white, have left her marriage, and her character, on shaky ground.

With raw realities that women face every day, covered by the grace of a very big God, The Mothers of Glendale Series takes readers a step further than new love to the weathered and deeply beautiful land of seasoned marriages, motherhood and saying goodbye to a full life, well-lived.

About the Author

Ann Goering is a four-time award-winning journalist who has worked as a senior editor/writer of magazines, newspapers and online publications since 2005. She works for an international Christian ministry that specializes in relationships and evangelism to children, youth and families around the world. Her involvement in that has given her a heart for the broken, hurting and lost and a desire to see individuals and families operate in healthy relationships. She has her degree in communications and enjoys writing Christian fiction and speaking to groups of women about the love of Jesus. She resides in the Ozark Mountains with her husband, whom she’s terribly in love with, their baby girl, Alija, and their fluffy white dog, Sheesha.

This was another good Christian read. Really defines what it means to be loved unconditionally. Also distinguishes the difference between love and attention?

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good!!! March 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I named this review what I did because of all the women in this series, Carla was my least favourite. I was so opposite in my outlook on being a mama of a girl and being a single mom as Carla was for a few years were so different. She had a different road to travel. Different trust issues and her being so career oriented was another difference between us. But her journey left me understanding and finding we had more in common than I had thought. Not looking forward to the end of the series. SWEET HANNA IS NEXT!!! So long for now!!!!

I enjoyed this book so much. I was disappointed when Carla almost had the affair, but was overjoyed when she found God again, on a deeper level.

It's a little repetitive. Overdone on how this career woman is putting her agenda ahead of her husband and marriage. I get it - time to move on. Read more
