5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, November 9, 2009

This is a great video paying tribute to the P-51 and the men who flew them, which was fine with me. So much is owed to those planes and pilots for the part they played in winning the war against Nazi Germany. America should NEVER forget the heroes of the USAAF of WW2.

This video is a sentimental look at the restoration of a P-51 and the affect it had on a combat veteran and his family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Family Story, March 4, 2010

This is a well written and filmed story of aviators' love for flying, the challenges war makes on families and how sharing experiences can bind the generations of a family together. I felt a connection to the family since my father and I both had a career in the US Navy and five of my sons have or are currently serving. Two of my boys are Navy F/A-18 pilots and I have given them the video to watch. There are breathtaking views from the air and heartwarming comments from three generations of a family; not mention a beautiful airplane that brings them together.

This was a wonderful documentary on one WWII double fighter ace, his family and his mount, a P-51 Mustang nicknamed "February". Stunning cinematography worthy of Academy recognition with a very complimentary narration by Peter Coyote. Very emotional closing footage.

Excellent, just excellent. Good production, stunning flight scenes, captures the emotion of the family involved and the romance of the aircraft. I've shown this to many acquaintances, many who have no particular interest in WWII history or aircraft, and all find it rewarding. Make it a part of your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A moving tribute to the Greatest Generation and the P51 Mustang, February 4, 2010

This review is from: Gray Eagles (DVD)
This is a beautifully made short film that should be in everyone's DVD collection. A powerful and inspired production about a great American and his special place in history as the pilot of a legendary aircraft, the North American P51 Mustang. We are rapidly losing our Greatest Generation and soon we will no longer have a human connection to one of the most perilous, yet triumphant, times in our nations history. Watch this DVD with your children and teach them compassion and appreciation for the men, women, and aircraft of WWII. Our history books will never tell an emotional story like this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grey Eagles Salute, March 31, 2011

This is an emotionally moving tribute to a humble 2nd World War flying ace and a young man who made it his mission to tell his story and remind us all of the sacrifice he made. It is a professionally made video sure to call up the patriotic pride you feel in America. Never have so few living legends simply gone back to their civilian life having known they protected liberty and freedom. May the current generation learn from this and realize freedom requires eternal vigilance and a wiliness to put country before life. This is the story of one man who made that choice. Much to learn from his example.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intensely moving, January 31, 2011

As the son of an aviator, I was totally wrapped up in this beautiful little story of a World War II veteran reunited with his aircraft. Being of British descent (and therefore fundamentally biased towards the Spitfire!) I might disagree with the notion of the P51 being the definitive fighter of WWII, but for the rest... There aren't many movies that leave me choked up!
Very highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mustangs, Mustangs, Mustangs, December 22, 2010
This review is from: Gray Eagles (DVD)
I first have to say that Mr. Chris Woods and his crew have made a wonderful film on Mr. Brooks and the P51 he flew in the second world war. This man is an inspiration to the warbird comunity and all other aviation people. I just hope the people in the USA, and others parts of the world, will never forget these great guys and there airplanes, and what they did for all of us, so we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. I also want to thank not only Chris here, but the guys I know like Lee Lauderback, Kirmit Weeks, and Tom Riley that are helping to keep the Mustang and other warbirds alive in the aviation community. Thanks and take care all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent DVD, March 19, 2010

This is a high quality video with some of the best in-flight pictures of a P-51 Mustang I have ever seen. The story line is very good and I connected with the family of Jim Brooks on a personal level. My father flew B-24 and B-29 bombers in WW2. I visited the only flying B-29 with my dad once and video taped it myself. I also was able to connect on a different level too. I've flown in the back seat of a P-51 on two occasions and the statement in the video that you can't fully understand what it's like unless you have been there and done it is very true. I am also a licensed aircraft mechanic and I've worked on a P-51 so I connected on that level as well.

This is an excelent video on many levels and it is one of the prized DVDs in my colection. I highly recomend it to any "Warbird" enthusiast. A heart felt "Well Done" to Chris Woods and his crew.
