This review is from: The Gray's Anatomy (Paperback)
An intriguing and darkly satirical science fiction story about an alien who finds itself abducted by humans. The Chronicler, whose job on its own home planet Rune 66 is to make documents finds itself needing to keep these human encounters secret from its colleagues, the Grays - a psychic meta colony whose 'coming in to being' or 'birth' takes place - from the recycled remains of 'deviant' Grays - through the birth passage of the mine dwelling Sliica Worms. The Chronicler knows that if its serial abductions are disclosed to the authorities it will be 'recycled' and its memories erased. This is a task more difficult that it may seem since the Grays share a collective mind. The Chronicler decides to hide its deviancy in' plain sight' and disguises its human encounters as a 'game show' style broadcast that becomes a ratings hit with its colleagues. This is a twisted, surprising, alternative-anatomical view of our future as seen through the eyes of an alien observer and keeps the reader guessing about what is coming next. An original and fresh first novel!
