Book Description

This companion resource to Gray's Anatomy for Students presents a vivid, visual depiction of anatomical structures. It demonstrates their correlation with appropriate clinical images and surface anatomy - essential for proper identification in the dissection lab and successful preparation for course exams. Clinically focused, consistently and clearly illustrated throughout, and logically organised...Gray's Atlas of Anatomy makes it easier to master the essential anatomy knowledge you need for exams and dissection labs.
  • Learn anatomy in a logical fashion by following an approach that in many cases progresses from a superficial to a deep orientation in logical progression.
  • Identify at a glance the various anatomical structures of the body and better understand their relationships to each other with the visual guidance of 1395 exquisitely illustrated anatomical figures.
  • Visualize the clinical correlation between exterior and interior anatomy thanks to 85 surface anatomy photographs overlaid with anatomical drawings - more surface anatomy photographs than you will find in any other anatomy atlas!
  • Recognize anatomical structures as they present in practice through 272 clinical images - including laparoscopic, radiologic, surgical, ophthalmoscopic, otoscopic, and other clinical views - placed adjacent to anatomic artwork for side-by-side comparison.
  • Use additional online tools with bonus access to www.graysatlas.com with your purchase.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"a collection of beautifully drawn anatomical illustrations; each clearly labelled allowing for easy identification of the various structures...an excellent, pictorial anatomy guide for medical students learning anatomy for the first time whether they're in the dissection room or as part of their private study."
UK Medical Student

BMA Book Awards 2008 - Highly Commended

"The quality of the artistic illustrations is high with some being particularly clear and helpful. This is a valuable and welcome addition to the anatomy world which any student of the subject will find a valuable resource to support their learning and understanding of the complexity of the human body."

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mixture of clinical medicine and gross anatomy, September 22, 2008
This review is from: Gray's Atlas of Anatomy, 1e (Gray's Anatomy) (Paperback)
This book combines great illustrations with the appropriate clinical imaging(be it x-ray, MRI or whatever) to understand the relationships between the imaging and the underlying gross anatomy. A great resource whether you are studying for gross anatomy class, your USMLE Step1 exam, or brushing up on your anatomy while on the wards.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Extraordinary Reference, October 1, 2007
This review is from: Gray's Atlas of Anatomy, 1e (Gray's Anatomy) (Paperback)
A remarkable tool and extraordinary reference for anyone interested in studying, practicing, or teaching somatic education. As a GUILD CERTIFIED FELDENKRAIS PRACTITIONERcm, I found the surface anatomy pages particularly invaluable. The extraordinary illustrations on these pages enable one to view in precise detail the relationship between the surface landmarks of the body such the chest and shoulders and the specific bones which lie under these areas. Being able to view such a relationship is extremely helpful in my work. Indeed, these surface anatomy pages as well as the CT, MRI and x-ray images in Gray's Atlas of Anatomy provide a very clear and vivid idea of what lies beneath...

3.0 out of 5 stars Depends on your preference, September 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gray's Atlas of Anatomy, 1e (Gray's Anatomy) (Paperback)
I bought this as a recommendation of the professor that was teaching anatomy. He believed it would be good for pre-health student. Although I was able to use it I preferred my other atlas for the deatail. This one was a bit less detailed and cartoon like.
