2.0 out of 5 stars A bit dated, but a jewel or two, January 11, 2009
This collection of thirteen essays probably had more punch when it was published in 1988. While the pieces are interesting, some have more value as examples of the cutting-edge cultural discussions of a few decades back than they do as thought-provokers today. One notable exception is "Report from El Dorado," Michael Ventura's commentary on American life and culture. In my opinion this essay is a must-read. I'd like to see it taught in every American college today.
