I ordered this DVD set for my 2 year old grandson - to watch on the DVD player in my van. He loves Curious George and watches the episodes over and over. The one downside for him is that after each episode, real children discuss what George learned. I'm sure older children would appreciate this, but at 2 1/2, he just wants to see George.

My daughter LOVES George. She will watch every episode and gets up and acts out what the show is teaching. She loves the intro song and learns concepts like numbers, shapes, colors, emotions, cause and effect, vocabulary/communication, and various life lessons. She's only 2 and she quotes the show all the time! She likes to "swing like a monkey" and acts like she's George and "teaches" mommy what she's learned. She'll get excited and say "We need to help him" when George is in a bind and overall it's a great show that's not annoying the same way as a lot of kid shows are. No annoying high pitch blabber that gets repeated over and over and over and it's also not slow and boring. It's fun and interactive and a great show for kids of all ages.

This show really helps kids learn. My son watched an episode where George used noodles to measure things. My son tried it too! I was shocked that he learned how to use the noodle like George did.

Another episode was about ants. My son then became fascinated with ants. While playing outside he kept looking for them and talking about ants.

From a parents perspective, CG was fun to watch with my child. There weren't negative messages. Episodes were positive, they were about finding solutions.

If it helps: My son is 2 yrs old and a typical boy - loves trucks and cars.

My toddler loves Curious George. No matter how many times I try to have her watch another show, she always comes back to this one- and she loves this episode in particular. It is a fun one where George paints with an elephant artist and interacts with Charkie (the neighbor's pet dog) so she gets to see lots of animals, which I think is her favorite part. In this episode George also delivers a pie to his friend the chef; he rides a bus, and teaches his viewers how to count while giving directions and traveling (For example, he takes the third bus stop, enters the third door on the left, etc.).

Our daughter (almost 2 years) loves this show. She calls it "monkey-woof-woof".
I like it because George often gets things wrong, then iterates through several attempts before figuring out the solution to his problem.
My wife doesn't like this show because George doesn't listen to his adult, the Man in the Yellow Hat, and doesn't think it sets a good example.
I like it because it's better than many of the alternatives out there for this age group, it's short enough to watch during one mealtime and then turn it off when it's done.

I have to say with each season I'm more and more impressed by the wholesome fun that is Curious George. This series has become a stable of one of my daughter's days and my wife and I enjoy watching it with her. Primarily it is fun, engaging, and full of wholesome morality and lessons, such as: forgiveness, patience, understanding, loyalty, creativity, obedience and others. I'm not espousing this show is the end all, be all...to teach your child, but they (and you) will have a lot of fun together watching and explaining as you go. :-)
