This 2-tape set features "Anchorage to Seward" and "Anchorage to Fairbanks." It is often shown on PBS stations, but the ordering information at the end of the program is incorrect -- it is no longer available through Acorn Media.
This is an excellent tour of Alaska's interior, showing history, current life, and how important the railroad still is. An aerial visit to Kenai Fjords National Park, and a memorable visit to Denali National Park are depicted. Brief bios of each conductor on the train are included, one being the youngest conductor ever chosen at the time the video was made, another serving the railroad for 30+ years, as well as being an excellent photographer.
Each time I watch these videos, I'd like to take the train ride!
