5.0 out of 5 stars Can Hemp Save the Planet?, September 24, 2003
By
This review is from: Great American Hemp Industry (Paperback)
With this country’s leaders about to take democracy from the hands of the American people, it is time to start examining other lost freedoms. Freedoms lost in the name of industrial greed and at the expense of the environment. Author Jack Frazier examines the history of the hemp industry in our country, from a thriving environmentally friendly business to the now illegal scapegoat of the chemical industry. Environment damaging corporations would crumble if hemp products were allowed to compete fairly in todayâ€~s market. Hemp has been used worldwide for over 4,000 years. Books printed on hemp paper over 400 years ago are still in great condition. Hemp has been used medicinally in China since 2,000 BC. In today’s economy based on cheap manufacturing practices and a disposable society, hemp is a major threat to the greedy corporations, but it could be the savior of our environment. The manufacture of products that will stand the test of time and the use of renewable natural resources such as hemp are the keys to the survival of our planet. This book is a must for the reference library of any environmentalist fighting the good fight.
