It wanders all about the map of America, citing the little things and the big things that make it what it is. Somehwat of a hodge-podge, covering everything from wild blueberries to the Brooklyn Bridge, it gives new meaning to that overused word, "eclectic", but the result is delightfully upbeat. A good read that informs and uplifts and kind of makes you proud of being an American.

I use this book with most of my ESL (ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE) students. They are fascinated by its contents -Monuments,inventors,natural resources,food, music, movies, cities - you name it - it's right here in this delightful book. Each chapter prepares you for the next so there is great continuity. A perfect text - I give it a 10!
