...few things could preserve my faith in humanity better than Benjamin Creme's new book.

Affirming once more his title of "messanger of hope," Creme presents with clarity, candor, common sense and conviction the "New Light and Life" for humanity in the years ahead. One may ask, yet: Is there any future at all for humanity...?

Contrary to fear and disbelief, and against the recent tide of pessimism about human affairs, the answer is an emphatic yes. And it is so, because no isolated action can reverse the "Great Approach," the subject of Creme's book.

A momentous, unprecedented event is unfolding below the threshold of media coverage: the coming together of the spiritual and the human kingdoms. As a result of this process, new and potent energies overflow the planet and condition human life in all its aspects. So powerful indeed these energies are that, if directed to evil schemes, they can produce devastating misery. We cannot get rid of them; only turn them into constructive purposes. To help us in this task, a group of spiritual educators are coming to the fore. Their vast knowledge of the law of causality and their radiant, unconditional love make them uniquely equipped to help humanity out of the present confusion.

That is Creme's story, and as a story we may accept it or not. But Creme is more than a story teller. Profoundly concerned with the explosive social problems and the moral failings of our age, he issues a call for action: Let us put our house in order. Let us manifest the best within us by addressing the problems of the world. Eliminating hunger, distributing more equitably the planet's resources, educating all children and tending to the ill and the needy, is how we can establish peace, diffuse tensions, and disarm the hands of terror. Creme gets even more specific when he recommends the Brandt Commission Report as a starting point for reconstructing our ailing world.

.... Starvation produces no less a violent death than any terrorist attack. Institutional poverty condemns children as much as the deprivation of a loved parent... And environmental pollution is, should we but realize it, an ongoing biological war against our planet.

World service, according to Creme, is the most effective way to manipulate the new energies of "The Great Approach" and restore our humanity to its true nature. Service to the world is also, I would add, the proper reaction to evil and the definite answer to terrorism. If you are searching for a book to start the new century on a realistic yet inspiring note, you might want to consider "The Great Approach" first.

5.0 out of 5 stars What we are approaching..., July 21, 2004
This review is from: The Great Approach : New Light and Life for Humanity (Paperback)
...we are approaching a time when all humans on this planet will have enough food to live, war will be a thing of the past, and nations will see the obvious benefits of co-operating rather than competing.

This information offers astounding hope and reassurance, something so desperately needed during this crucial transformation of mankind. We are in the middle of a transition period, struggling to drop the individualistic, separative, selfish ways in exchange for brotherhood, justice and unity. Mr. Creme's insight, including Maitreya's and his Master's messages, offers the reader a realistic look at the global problems facing us and how extraordinary spiritual guidance is producing (and will produce) unimaginably positive outcomes. However, we as humans will have to put our highest ideals into action. This kind of reading is intended for anyone who has any interest in what lies ahead for humanity - spiritual changes manifested in the everyday world of political, economic, and social contexts.

The only thing I can say for sure is that my life has changed tremendously since first coming across this book. Books alone won't change you, but the hope this one brings and the chance to serve humanity by spreading this information could very well change you.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Great Restoration!, August 16, 2001

The time is short that we have to halt the current path of destruction on this planet - our only home. Our response will determine which path we will take. I have faith that humanity will choose the right way - the way to peace, freedom & justice through the acceptance of the simple principle of sharing and the love of our fellow men. We now have the capability to destroy all life on this planet - both human and subhuman. We also have the capability to restore the damage and create a society where each person, a soul in incarnation, has the opportunity to realize his or her own potential. I think that Benjamin Creme's straightforward, logical approach to the fundamental issues facing humanity can be utilized as a sort of road map - one can trace both the history and future of humanity and easily come to the conclusion that we must change our ways. This book is both a great reminder and a wakeup call. Sharing is not a new concept - just one that many have forgotten in the onslaught of greed. Awareness is the key. Maitreya and The Masters are giving us the tools - it's up to us to build the New World in a unified effort. In Message Number 13 from Maitreya, The Christ, He states "...Each Man is a lighthouse and sheds abroad his light for his brother. Make bright your lamp and let it shine forth and show the way. All are needed, every one. No one is too small or too young to take part in this great Plan for the rescue and rehabilitation of our world." I recommend this book to those who are prepared to light the way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Viable Alternatives, July 21, 2004
This review is from: The Great Approach : New Light and Life for Humanity (Paperback)
Here is a book that brings together the great ideas from the East and West and convincingly forges from them a comprehensive guideline for what we must do now and in the future to create a viable, sustainable life for people of all cultures and spiritual traditions. Inclusiveness, long a hallmark of this author's work, suggests great hope for the future, attainable by practical, real means. A superb alternative to the counter-productive ways of competition, and to the politics of divisiveness, hopelessness and despair. First-rate!

Benjamin Creme's books are an ongoing dialogue about how the universe is really working and our place in it. Highly recommended for those whose hearts and minds are open to the new energies and the new time. Maitreya, the World Teacher, is here to guide and assist humanity into the new time. Simply the best. A must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Approach provides hope for future, August 15, 2001

This book, the latest by Creme, further clarifies the history and problems of humanity in a spiritual context. Maitreya, the World Teacher, and the Masters, are beings who have evoleved ahead of us and now point the way forward for humanity, if we will only listen. Having free will, which cannot be infringed, gives us the choice to listen and act or remain stuck in outmoded ways of relating. The book is enlightening, fascinating and most of all hopeful. Read this for the macro view of history. Creme's material tells us not just the facts of history, but why certain developments took place and what we can expect in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars The peaceful equation, July 9, 2001

This review is from: The Great Approach : New Light and Life for Humanity (Paperback)
This book defines and encourages what we've learned from Mr.Creme's writings. We need to turn our energy into the reality of love for each other, starting this day. Our faith and trust in the simple truth is the energy that transends. This book is an essay of what is possible and provides an abundance of knowledge and hope for Matrayia's coming world. It asks us to look for the compassionate friends among us, the child like, the questioners, the ones filled with passion for life.

You will find that Benjamin Creme will use biblical scripture when it is beneficial to him in the literal sense, but is quick to discount scripture as symbolic when it contradicts his lie. "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are raving wolves." Matthew 7:15 "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many will come in my name, saying, I AM CHRIST, and will deceive many" Matt 24:4-5 "Then if any man shall say to you, here is the Christ or there is the Christ, BELIEVE IT NOT. For there shall arise false christs and false prophets, and they shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch, that if it were possible they shall deceive even the very elect. Behold, I have told you BEFORE" Matthew 24:24-25. These are the words of the only begotten son of God, the one and only Christ-JESUS. Jesus was very direct in his warning that there would arise a false Christ, an Antichrist, whom would deceive many. The bible does not speak figuratively or in symbolic terms on this subject. So that we would not be tricked by those like Creme and Rahmat Ahmad (the real name of Maitreya), Jesus Christ gave a description of what his return would look like. "And there shall be signs in the sun and the moon, and in the stars, and distress upon the nations...And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and Glory." Luke 21:25-27. Benjamin Cream would have you believe that this was fulfilled by Maitreya's arrival on a plane. The most obvious problem here is, Maitreya IS NOT JESUS. And no matter what Ben Creme says, the bible is very clear that there is only ONE Christ. "For God so loved the world that he gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, so that who ever believes in him should not parish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. So if God makes it this easy to identify the Return of Jesus Christ, does he make it easy to identify the false christ? Yes, he does. Revelations 13:18 states "Here is the wisdom. Let he that understands count the number of the Beast, or the number of his name. His number is Six Hundred and Sixty Six(666)." The name Maitreya has various spelling combinations in the Hebrew language. All variations equal 666. The bible sets a very specific timeline for the false christ and his undertakings. Maitreya who promises us something that he cannot give, has only one agenda...to destroy the human race. Maitreya will rule the Earth for seven years. This time will be known as the Tribulation. This Tribulation's beginning will be marked by the AntiChrist's 7 year agreement with Israel. This agreement, like all promises made by the Father of Lies, will be broken. There is no "Godhood" for any of us. This same thing was promised to Eve in the Garden... "for you will know the difference between good and evil and be as Gods" The real reward for this trespass against God (as Lucifer knew it would be according to eternal law) was separation from God and the beginning of suffering. The false christ will come as a man promising peace, and will undoubtably bring about the worst destuction ever known. 1 Peter 5:14 says "Be sober, be vigilant; because your advasary the devil, as a roaring Lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." "There were false profits also among the people and false teachers among you, who so sly will bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord, bringing themselves swift destruction" 2 Peter2:1. Lastly..."Take heed to yourselves, lest anytime your heart be overcharged [with the cares of this life ] so that the day will come upon you unawares" Luke 21-34.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great in many respects, but...., June 22, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Great Approach : New Light and Life for Humanity (Paperback)
Ageless Wisdom, while recently sort of "owned" by the Blavatsky-Bailey-Creme school, includes the eternal and universal wisdom of the Christ, the Buddha, the Avatars, the Sat Gurus and the Sages, as well as the wisdom of the Holy Qabalah, the ancient root of Judaism and Christianity. But Ageless Wisdom teachings do NOT necessarily include the Bailey-Creme take on the "return" of the Christ. In fact, while Creme's work has extraordinary merit and certainly helps in preparing the world for what is coming, evidence has recently come to light that the real Christ will NOT come this time, but has instead sent a messenger.

You see, as Jesus said, "If any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, who shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that they shall deceive and seduce the very elect." (Matthew 24:23-24 and Mark 13:21-22) But that was not merely to warn us of imposters and pretenders. It was also to confirm that the person who would actually fulfill Judeo-Christian prophecy would not be the Christ, but His messenger. And there is much more evidence to further confirm that fact.

For example, the prophesied one is actually the messenger for the "Spirit of Truth" that Jesus said would come, to "guide us unto all truth, show us things to come, and glorify me." (John 16:13-14) He is the son of man who "first suffers many things and is rejected by his generation." (Luke 17:25)Those biblical facts, along with many others, indicate the truth about today's messenger of God, who is not a superman, and not holier than thou, but a prodigal son of man who delivers the true message for the Spirit of Truth according to real prophecy.

The messenger says the world does not need a savior in person to scorn and crucify, or to exalt and put on a pedestal, and no man should be tempted with such great worldly power or bear its responsibility. He says the world needs truth, and nothing but the truth, and submits that the new covenant of God frees us from sovereign authority or sovereign leadership of any kind. He says THERE IS NO HIERARCHY IN CHRIST, and he repeats what Isaiah wrote, that "besides God there is no savior." (Isaiah 43:10-11) That's why the messenger writes anonymously and has no personal agenda.

The message is in a book titled Real Prophecy Unveiled, by Joseph J. Adamson (a pen name), and it explains how the humble and meek shall indeed inherit the earth and share the throne as equal joint heirs in God's "new kingdom." Then, no more will we be divided by rivalry for the throne, and no more ruled by a partisan pretender to the throne. We will finally have government that is really of, for, and by the people.

Considering all that, if Creme's Maitreya is actually a person, I'm afraid he would be a false christ who shows great signs and wonders and deceives many people, just as Jesus predicted. Therefore, I will accept Adamson's work as the message from the Spirit of Truth. Because while there are many claims being made about the existence or the coming of the Christ (AKA the Saoshyant/Avatar/Buddha/Imam Mahdi), Adamson is the one who really serves the Holy One according to prophecy. Granted, Creme's work is wonderful and inspiring, and it is highly valuable in many respects. Still, considering his perception and explanation of who and what the Christ is, I find Adamson's work more credible and true to biblical prophecy.
