Book Description

August 6, 1996 Discover America: National Parks: The Story Behind the Scenery
The creation of Great Basin National Park is a unique concept for the Park Service, for it preserves not only the timeless resources found with the park's boundaries but also serves to represent the vast Great Basin province.

Great Basin National Park, located in eastern Nevada, established in 1986, protects a remnant ice field on Wheeler Peak, ancient bristlecone pine forests, and the decorated galleries of Lehman Cave.
