Great Battles of War - Dien Bien Phu [VHS]

I had expected a somewhat detailed review of the battle. I knew there was little if any actual footage available. But, very detailed accounts of each of the outpost battles in all of their phases exist (Hell In a Small Place). I was dissappointed not only is the coverage of the actual Battle minimal, none of the main personalities such as Bigeard, Langlais etc. are covered. The issue of promised or implied American support is not even mentioned. The murder of over 70% of the French Expeditionary Force POWs is not mentioned either. I could go on. To add insult to injury the file footage that is used is totally invonsistant i.e. heavy mechanized attacks by the French when they had only Five 'Bison' Tanks I would truly like to find a good, thorough, Video of this pivotal battle where the dye was cast for the next 20+ years!

From the first Frech trrops had been difficult Battle from sporadic Guerillar Fighting of
HO Chi Minh.even many military supports from US.
Missed military decision,fortified point deffense of Dien Bien Phu(with old Japanese Air Strip)
for cutting Viet Minh's supply line to Ally Laos. But General Giap surrounded and occupied
high land and mauntains. Following ancient styled transportationof French overwhlming Artillerys
(including AAA),They fire down to exact location they wanted.Supply and enforcement only
deprnd upon Air Lift. under the heavy,accurate fire cannon and AAA,Finally French Garrisons under
Col.Castries,was overruned and Surrendered(deffended for 2 months)..
