This book was intended to boost butter consumption from the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. The recipes do not make imaginative or interesting use of butter, are very limited to middle-America type recipes, and lack any insight you would not already have in other basic cookbooks.

If you are looking for some interesting butter-related recipes, a third of Fat: An Appreciation of a Misunderstood Ingredient, With Recipes is dedicated to butter, and is vastly better researched.

This is a beautiful book--literally! It's pleasing to the eye and the recipes are pleasing to the palate! They are very classic recipes. I haven't yet checked to see if they call for more butter than is normal but I suspect they do not. At any rate, you will be pleased with photographs of many recipes and the fact that there are so many classic recipes included.
