This quirky and smart CD is one that my kids love and is never tiresome to me. I often listen to this CD even when my kids are not around. It is just that good. His puts on a great live show.

My daughter, age 2.5 sings every song on this CD. Little Raindrop being our favorite...along with Everything else starts with E. .... no wait we love the WHOLE thing!! You will too!

Justin Roberts "Great Big Sun" is a true gem in our collection of family music. His songs have the ability to teach and inspire my daughter, while keeping Mom and Dad singing right along. My only complaint is that the album just doesn't seem long enough. This minor problem was quickly overcome when i bought his second children's record, "Yellow Bus" (but that's for my next review). I smile at the cleverness of his writing. All parents should challenge their kids with this kind of music. While nursery rhymes are fun, this music is definitely the next step in moving your kids to the next level of understanding the power and magic of music.

Here's an album that you will listen to, and unexpectedly realize that you have spontaneously began to hum or sing at some point in the day. The age and geneartion gap is finally bridged by a really good artist.

Our whole family loves this CD. We listen to it all the time and never get sick of it. My 18 month old daughter says "more more more" during the silence between the songs- she can hardly get enough. It's definitely a CD that a dad, mom, and children of all ages can enjoy together. Good tunes, good lyrics, and so much fun. Passed the word on to my sister and their whole family loves it just as much as we do. Thank you, Mr. Roberts!

This cd was recommended to us by someone who called it "James Taylor for kids". My husband and I played other music in the car for our 2-year old but didn't really enjoy it ourselves. We LOVE Great Big Sun & Yellow Bus- and so does Henry! I can't wait to hear Not Naptime now. Justin Roberts is great listening for the whole family- we ALL enjoy singing along.

I LOVE this CD. A friend gave it to us this Christmas and I can't wait to get it for my friends with kids. We have 3 kids age 2-7 and am not sure who enjoys it more me or them. The music reminds me of a kids version of James Taylor/Jimmy Buffet. lots of fun!

My family and I were overjoyed to find a kid's CD that EVEYONE loves to listen to. Justin Robert's lyrics are fun and original. He has a knack for seeing the world from a kid's point of view. There is not a cloying phrase in the bunch. The tunes are catchy and singable (and never those irritating grinds that lodge in your brain at two in the morning.) This artist is also fun to hear in concert--just a normal, nice guy--not some creepy, stunted personality in a purple suit. Roberts other album Yellow Bus is great too! We would buy any kid CD by this artist and not be disappointed!

Rejoice all you jaded parents out there who think that the music which will appeal to your young kids is either the condescending tedium of Raffi & Barney or the pop banality of the Backstreet Boys. Here is something else entirely -- much better than you could have hoped for, infinitely hummable, but more importantly, WORTHY of being hummed and sung and shouted. You and your kids will find yourselves turning to Great Big Sun time and again to bridge the gap between what the kids want to hear and what the adults can stand. In fact, you'll find yourself sneaking it in the CD player even when the kids are away. All my friends agree, and I've given it to at least 7 of them. You won't be sorry.

I was a fan of Justin's previous band Pimentos for Gus, so when I saw he had a children's album, I ordered it. It's rare for me to listen to much of what I had before having children, but this makes a great exception! There is a great range of songs, from lullabies to jazzy songs to rock, yet it flows wonderfully. We're especially fond of "Old Pajamas" which even gets my 15 month old shakin' his hips on his wobbly legs. There's lots of great instrumentation-from trumpets to fiddles-that liven thing up more than most children's recordings.
