Great trip down memory lane for Seattle sports fans,

This review is from: The Great Book of Seattle Sports Lists (Great Book of Sports Lists) (Paperback)
A very quick and entertaining read that recaps some great memories from the Seattle sports scene. Some I'd heard before and enjoyed reading again - some were totally new. The guest authors also make this a fun way to see events from a different view.I read and passed along to my brothers/Dad who also went through it quickly and enjoyed it. Thanks to the Tacoma News Tribune who mentioned this in one of their sports columns.

A Must for the Seattle Sports Fan... but it's a book of lists,

This review is from: The Great Book of Seattle Sports Lists (Great Book of Sports Lists) (Paperback)
I certainly think any Washington/Seattle sports fan would enjoy this trip down memory lane, despite a generally depressing sports history. The overall research by the authors and anecdotes from guest contributors are excellent. There are several "oh yeah, forgot about that" moments to read about, as well as plenty of facts from the first half of the 20th century most of us never even knew.Still, it's not perfect. It's a book of lists, which can only be so engrossing. And in order to fill the book out, the same characters and stories are repeated from time to time, as is the rant against those who criticized Schultz/Bennett for the Sonics fiasco (I can hear Gas's voice every time I read those parts ;). A year later certain lists are already outdated, which is natural when it comes to such a topic. Hopefully the authors will revisit their lists and publish an updated edition down the road. Overall a nice stocking stuffer and bathroom book.
