4.0 out of 5 stars great for trivia
I make up a lot of trivia questions for an elderly population and there were lots of facts in this book that I could use.

2.0 out of 5 stars Instead of a good trivia book, we get worthless fiddle-faddle
Trivia, according to Webster, is a "fact that is unimportant or insignificant", and this book is chock full of exactly that. The author of this disorganized mess seems to have made a breezy survey of history books, tourist brochures, and sports pages, swept in a bunch of pocket-lint factoids and generally worthless dreck, and furnished the results with a scattering of...

Trivia, according to Webster, is a "fact that is unimportant or insignificant", and this book is chock full of exactly that. The author of this disorganized mess seems to have made a breezy survey of history books, tourist brochures, and sports pages, swept in a bunch of pocket-lint factoids and generally worthless dreck, and furnished the results with a scattering of poorly focused, mediocre quality photographs. The result is small potatoes. Copy editing seems to have been bypassed as inconvenient frippery, so the reader is treated not only to unimportant facts, but inaccurate unimportant facts, such as that "Honey Fitz Kennedy" became mayor of Boston in 1909 (page 100). This book is hardly worth the trifling effort required to pitch it into the recycling bin.
