I just started making cakes about a year ago, and as a newbie, I was searching for a recipe for strawberry cake from scratch. This was the only book I found that had one. The cake came out looking and tasting great--it looked just like the picture, and I am looking forward to making more cakes from this book for the holidays. The pictures are beautiful (a picture of each cake is shown), and the recipes are easy to follow.

This is not a review, and I sincerely apologize to those who thought it was. I came across this title and was outraged to discover third party sellers were attempting to sell their books for starting prices of $169.

Amazon has an updated paperback version of this exact same book for $10!!

I'm sorry for posting this under the reviews, but I felt it unfair to have people being scammed out of their hard earned money.

I took this book out of the library, and was very impressed with the recipies as well as the illustrations. I did make one of the cakes and it came out fantastic. I got rave reviews from all my friends and family. I purchased one for my own cookbook library, as I felt it is a very good book to round out any Cook's library.

This cookbook is a keeper! Lots of variety. There are some classic recipes and then some really unique, upscale recipes that are just screaming for you to bake. I just love that there is a picture of practically every cake with each recipe so you got an idea of what it is going to look like. It also gives the nutrition information below each recipe, so you get an idea of how many calories you going to ingest. This cookbook may not be for people watching their calories, unless you really watch your portion of cake, which I would truly find hard to do! Especially with these scrumptious, fork grabbing cakes! However, there is variety - with the use of fruit, pumpkin, fig, even a recipe for flourless chocolate cake. I don't think you will be dissapointed buying this cookbook; I'm surely not. Here's to baking!

When baking I enjoy cookbooks with great photos. Makes it come to life before you even get started! Have tried a few of the recipes and they are very good.

Very nice book with good photo's but wish all the recipes had them. Have not tried any as yet but marked a few pages with paper. Love cook books !!
Good instructions for the recipes.
