Chicagoans past and present featured in the book include Studs Terkel, Roger Ebert, Sara Paretsky, Jesse Jackson, Daryl Hannah, Koko Taylor, Joe Mantegna, Buddy Guy, David Mamet, and poet Gwendolyn Brooks, among others.
