Lotsa rarities, February 17, 2009
This review is from: 20 Great Cruisin' Favourites of the 50's and 60's, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
Rarities include a Johnny Tillotson version of Rick Nelson's "I Got A Feeling", arrangement almost identicle; two covers by the Chiffons, "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" and "It's My Party"; a version of "Rockin' Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu" by Art Neville.
More familiar grooves are every bit as groovy: the classic "Pretty Girls Everywhere" by Euguene Church, a real million seller in disguise, somewhat in the Bo Diddley mode; a nice stereo pressing of "The Wanderer" by Dion and a nice mono pressing of "Denise" by Randy & The Rainbows, a great Bubble Gum meets Classical opus; three barrelhouse explosions by Little Richard, his protege, Larry Williams, and the guaranteed party-maker, "Chantilly Lace", by you-know-who.
