I have a 9 year old little girl and this was a great way to carve out special time together and get to know each other better. This book has all those things you want to say to your daughter--that she is beautiful beyond what the world calls beautiful, and she is worth more than the world tells her she is--and it is all in one place, ready to help you communicate it well to your daughter. This book also helped both of us strengthen our personal relationship with God. I HIGHLY recommend this book! I wish my mother had a resource like this when I was young!

I started to use this book with my daughter and 4 other moms and daughters this summer in my church. The girls' age are from 9 to 11. We finished our second dates this Sunday. We had a lot of fun and laughter. Some moms commented that those dates has enabled them to have one to one time with their daughters and to have a chance to clarify some misunderstandings among them. Girls have requested more tea party with moms. The video clipping on Dove Evolution also has helped them understand how media has created unrealistic beauty standard. Also, moms also expressed that the book help them their own difficulties in body image. We are looking forward to other 6 dates.

I loved this book and was shocked to read that over 100,000 moms and daughters have already been on these eight dates. That speaks volumes for the quality of the ideas in the book, and our need as women to connect with our daughters about important issues. You can also download free audio files for each date, which is great reinforcement for those of us who love to learn by listening. The dates can open up conversations that have life changing impact. I recommend it! I also have her book Six Ways to Keep the Little in Your Girl, and it is a fabulous read, too.
