All About Dinos.,
By
This review is from: The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible (Hardcover)
Children of all ages love dinosaurs. They are fascinated by them and will soak up anything dealing with those creature of old. A question that usually arises when discussing dinosaurs with children is, "what happened to the dinosaurs?" This book answers that question in the most logical and plausible way. The book is quite informative not just for kids, but for adults as well. It explains how dinosaurs fit into the Biblical creation, exposes flaws in many popular scientific theories, and illumines the validity of a Judeo/Christian world view in science. Yet, the book is quite simple to read and understand and does not become bogged down in superfluous scientific jargon. An excellent read.

Many years ago I was given this book for Science class in a Christian School. I used this in teaching on Dinosaurs. It was an excellent book. I learned much along with the Children. I now have a 3 yr. old Grandson now and he is so interested in dinosaurs. This book was given to him at Christmas. I bought it here at Amazon. My Grandson is still a little young but I want him to learn the Biblical account about Dinosaurs. I recommend this book for those who are homeschooling and for Christian Schools and for all who desire to know the truth of God's word about Dinosaurs.

Much needed information for our confused, scientific age.,

This review is from: The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible (Hardcover)
When one criticizes this book it is no doubt because they don't understand that many Christian children are being fed disinformation in school, on tv and in movies. The book clearly explains (and proves) that dinosaurs did indeed exist after the flood and were not unknown to the writers of the Bible. It is not a book per se about evolution, but works well as a companion to the subject. Once we realize that dinosaurs are not as old as we're often told, the theory of macro-evolution is shown to be just that--- a theory, with no secure basis in factual history. I have owned a copy of this book since 1989 and frequently use it as a teaching aid, its bountiful illustrations rivet children's attention. But it is also useful for teens and adults who question the historic accuracy of the Sacred Scriptures.

Thank you Paul Taylor!,

While researching a fairly broad hypothesis centered around the fact that almost half of the adults in the most advanced nation in the world believe in some sort of creationism, I came across this excellent work. I often wonder how a society such as ours (in the United States) can dismiss the truths that were hypothesized, researched, further hypothesized, experimentally proven, further researched and ultimately defined as theory. This process can be hundreds of years in the making!
Now, thanks to this remarkable work by Paul Taylor, I'm finally starting to get it. He's done an amazing job of minimizing the overrated works of those crazy scientists - Newton, Galileo, Copernicus, Darwin, etc. So, scientists put a man on the moon. What's so great about that? They developed the transistor that ushered in the electronic age which has given us computers and made all our lives "better." Big deal. They've developed vaccines and medical practices that have increased the life expectancy of humans from 48 to 75 in a hundred years. Who cares? God could have done all of these things in the blink of an eye. He just didn't want to. Thanks again to Paul Taylor for helping me understand a little bit more about the society and culture I was born into. Bravo.

I found this book to be very useful in explaining dinosaurs to my childern in a way that is consistant with my Biblical beliefs. It answered my own questions and I recommend it to anyone of any age. It is a great tool for reinforcing what we know to be truth.

Excellent - Biblical view of creation, dinosaurs,

This book is similar to David Unfred's book about the Bible and dinosaurs (dragons, monsters, serpents), and both are good for children if you want the Christian perspective on the matter. See what Genesis says about how young our earth is. See what happened to the dinosaurs and many other animals who became fossils (in the great flood of Noah's time). Man and dinosaur did live together, but climatic changes after the flood and hunting brought on their demise (or at least the demise of most of them). There is still evidence that their may be some of these creatures in the oceans and in remote parts of the world. The Biblical mentions in Job of behemoth and leviathan open up a whole new perspective for Christians who were not familiar with this and the truth of Genesis is upheld. There are color and black and white illustrations for the children to look at while you read to them. This book and David Unfred's book "Dinosaurs and the Bible" are both good. They address generally the same topic, but each brings out some different aspects on the topic (see also my comments on Unfred's book as they would apply to this book, also). I highly recommend both to parents. "There was no death until Adam sinned."

A book that challenges,
By
This review is from: The Great Dinosaur Mystery and the Bible (Hardcover)
Even though I am a Christian, I was afraid that this book would be very right winged to the point that it would make far fetched claims. However, I am very happy to say that that is just not the case.
If you are looking for a book that QUESTIONS as well as CHALLENGES the claim to "know it all, fact-finding scientific theory of our day", than this is it. Finally, a book that presents the process of HOW modern day scientists come to their conclusions, as well as showing HOW mistakes in the evidence can be easily made. One example in the book is how the author describes digging up bones is like trying to put together a massive jigsaw puzzle and how the bones of one skeleton can be mixed in with the others. Or even worse, finding a skull of a skeleton 3 or 4 miles away from the skeleton they are trying to complete! Even when more than one set of skeletal remains are close to one another, it's obvious that the smartest and most skillful person can make a mistake and claim the bones belong with the wrong set. Why don't they mention these kinds of mistakes in classroom textbooks? Unfortunately, we live in a time where evolution is taught as TRUTH instead of THEORY and IDEAS and we are warping young minds by not presenting the WHOLE truth by stating that evolution is a THEORY as well as explaining how difficult a task it is for those digging up the bones and how they don't always get it right. This book is very much down to earth and is not making false claims. Another thing I like about the book is how it mentions that the dinosaurs are God's creation. It is geared more for ages 12 and below. If you are looking for a book that challenges the evolutionist theory and encourages children to think for themselves instead of believe everything they are told, then this is the book. However, if you are looking for a book that tries to get kids not to think on their own, and believe everything they are told, then look for a classroom textbook on evolution. By the way, evolution IS a a belief system. We all have to believe in something, the question is "What?".

My son borrowed this from the school library and after reading it I bought a copy because I wanted one in the house. Wonderful book that gives parents the option to teach children the biblical truth about dinosaurs versus the constant secular misinformation they are always hearing. Found this very informative for my children and myself. Loved it!

This book is wonderful to teach your children about life as it is told from the Bible. If you don't believe it, please do not put down people who try to teach their children from the Bible.

For those who want an alternative to the presentation of dinosaurs having evolved millions of years ago, this is a nice, thorough, yet not-too-long book for your 4-12 year old. I enjoyed it as an adult, but I had heard most of the arguments before. If you believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God , that God spoke animals and Adam and Eve into existence in their current form as Genesis describes, then this is a breath of fresh air. Their are biblical references throughout in parenthesis to back up the statements of fact. Many statements are also stated as a belief of scientists who are Christians. There are a few places where opinion based on facts is not explained as "a POSSIBLE answer" but rather as fact. For instance, the explanation of the flood and how fossils were formed by it states, "The earth's crust heaved and buckled unleashing terrible volcanic eruptions and massive earthquakes like the world has never seen before or since. Rain poured out from dark, thundering skies in unending torrents. Waves of loosened earth and trees slid down hillsides burying plants by the thousands." While I believe this is probably the case, I would have liked the author to give credit to scientific research that supports this like he does elsewhere in the book for other plausible theories. Of course, books based on evolution do the same thing in the opposite direction, stating theory as fact, so I'd prefer this to that any day. There are several pages dedicated to dragons and how these embellished stories tend to imply that man did live at the same time as dinosaurs. Several recent sightings (over last 500 yrs) are also explored as possibilities. There are pictures of real fossils, but they are mostly in black and white. The drawings are in color and/or b&w. I like the question and answer format of the book. I will certainly read this with my children, but I will stop to ask which parts are definitely true according to the Bible and which facts COULD be true according to the Bible to clarify for them. Glad I made the purchase.
