4.0 out of 5 stars Three of England's finest gardens. Simply extraordinary!, November 30, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Great Gardens of England: Featuring the Gardens at Hidcote Manor, Mottisfont Abbey, Sissinghurst Castle [VHS] (VHS Tape)
For every art or craft there are defining works. When the craft under consideration is gardening, one cannot deny the beauty and worldwide influence of the three extraordinary English gardens covered in this program: Hidcote Manor, Mottisfont Abbey, and Sissinghurst Castle. The coverage of each of these gardens includes information about the history, and original designers; explanations of the designs; details about planting, and interviews with the current head gardeners; all accompanied with gorgeous footage of these areas at their best. This video gives viewers the opportunity to learn from some of the world's most accomplished gardeners. The photography makes the most of the gardens, using such techniques as closeups, and aerial shots to add to the production values. Good color accuracy, composition, and sound, add to the technical quality. This program provides an entertaining and informative tour of three extraordinary gardens at a very reasonable price. 4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, August 14, 2009

This review is from: Great Gardens of England: Featuring the Gardens at Hidcote Manor, Mottisfont Abbey, Sissinghurst Castle [VHS] (VHS Tape)
It was interesting. It wasn't exactly what I tried tried to order, but it was
different. I watched it with my mother as she lives for flowers and plants
and she knew some of them in the movie. My parents have been to Europe, but
they didn't see this particluar place. The narrator's accent was a little
hard to understand, but we still watched it.
