5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Of Three Different Singing Styles, August 30, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Great Gospel Hit Parade: From Memphis To Nashville To Texas (Audio CD)
Who would've thought that the powerful, belt-'em-out presence of James Blackwood could be so skillfully meshed with the soft, doo-wap harmonies of The Jordanaires and the basic, just-the-right production of The Light Crust Doughboys folk-style accompaniment. Wow, this CD has "GRAMMY" written all over it. Even the sprinkling of new material has that classic, RCA-STUDIO B feel, and the new songs will leave you humming the melody. We fans of classic Americana owe it to ourselves to get this CD heard by old fans, new fans, DJs and the like. Complain no more that "they just don't make 'em like they used to"...This release is everything I like about southern gospel music with several gold stars of class added! True, authentic, American music for the soul...Long live The Blackwoods, The Light Crust Doughboys and The Jordanaires!

5.0 out of 5 stars IF YOU WANT TO HEAR WHAT HEAVEN SOUNDS LIKE, BUY THIS CD, May 30, 2000
This review is from: The Great Gospel Hit Parade: From Memphis To Nashville To Texas (Audio CD)
I have known Art Greenhaw for many years and i must say that with each passing year he gets better and better. His new Light Crust Doughboy cd is out of "this world". When we die and go to heaven this is what i expect the sounds of heaven to be like. This is a must cd for anybody that loves gospel music. I promise you, it will not disappoint you.
