The Introduction highlights the DO'S & DON'TS of slow cooking, why slow cooking is much healthier than frozen-dinners & fast food, and why fresh & tasty slow cooking comfort food is better for nutritional value. The charts given in this cookbook are extremely helpful to give specific amounts of ingredients for different size slow cookers. Many of the ingredients are common, and the recipes given are for breakfast; lunch; dinners; and desserts.
Some of the tasty recipes include: Oat, Barley, And Date Porridge; Cinnamon Pear Sauce; Ground Beef, Brown Rice And Tomato Casserole; Barbecued Flank Steak With Sweet Potatoes; And more. There are also soup recipes, and vegetable dishes.
Thus far, I made the Scallops With Apples And White Wine, it was very tasty. We also tried the Carrot Soup With Garlic And Nutmeg, a sensation and filling. My daughter selected the Lamb Casserole With Garlic And Rosemary, and my next selection is the Turkey And Wild Rice Stuffed Peppers. We will leave updates as we make new recipes. There are also recipes for fish and shellfish, and the desserts are totally awesome. We made the Coconut Pistachio Rice Pudding. A different dessert we never tasted before, and delicious. This is a great addition to my cookbook collection, and the price was a great bargain. Highly recommended to all those who enjoy the many benefits of slow cooking. Highly recommended!
