I am an avid user of technology. I own a graphing calculator, iPhone, iPad, 2 laptops and a desktop, and use all sorts of software for productivity, yet I find this little slide rule to be as equally indispensable. It's great to pull this little guy out and find all the info I need for fixture or prototype design. Absolutely worth every penny and I recommend it to every new engineer or any engineer who doesn't have one. You don't know how useful it is until you have it.

People have already mentioned the features but I will state my favorites.

The beam bending calcs are great as I tend to use a lot of snaps to simplify mechanims. I also use the screw finder for fixtures and prototypes so often than I now feel nearly useless when I don't have it. These two things as well as the thermoplastics shortcut list are worth the price of admission. Don't hesitate, buy this slide.

I run my own mechanical design consulting business ([...])and have been using a smaller version of this slide chart for several years. It has been an incredibly useful tool, but it was only in inches. I found this one a few days ago and ordered it - it is AMAZING. It also has about a dozen other things that my old one didn't have:

Min bend radii for sheet metal in various materials
Reference durometer data for various materials
Beam defelction equations
Thermoplastic properties for various materials
Surface finish reference data
A few simple stats equations
Weld and GD&T symbols
And more...

...and then of course the standard stuff like dimensions for the full spectrum of nuts and bolts, drill/tap/size chart, fractional and drill conversion chart.

This is a huge time-saving tool for anyone who is in the product development/mechanical design field.

The seller responded quickly to my question and resolved my concern. The product was packaged securely and arrived within the specified time frame. The chart is a gift and that an engineer friend saw online and requested. I know that the easy to use tool is exactly what he wanted.

Great product! This chart is a handy reference for any engineer/machinist type person. Much more information than a typical "screw chart" contains - even has beam deflection formulas. The metric information is a welcome feature, also.

This is a great, all-in-one, simple to use product. It has more features than I originally anticipated.
I would definitely recommend it to any engineer, designer or machinist.

First, the chart is missing any and all data for Flat Socket Head Cap Screws. Second, the numbers between different data elements don't line up exactly. For example the data for the Shoulder Screws and other screws don't line up, so you have to slide the chart slightly between the two data types. Lastly, too much room is wasted with Fraction, Decimal, Millimeter charts, which are found on both sides of the chart, why?

I saw this slide chart in several design publications listed as a useful reference & as one of the "Top 5 Design Tools" in Product Design & Development magazine. This is such a smart product! It is sturdy plastic & is packed with information - English AND Metric Screws. The engineering department is fighting over mine. It is definitely worth the money. I would recommend the Engineering Slide Chart- great buy!
