This is a pretty standard/classic sterling silver tie bar. I know I had couldn't find the size of this item, for those with the same question it is just shy of 2".

Bottom line up front - either 1 or 2 or BOTH are true of this tie clip:

1. Product is a fake - not actually silver
2. Manufacturer does not care about offering a quality product to the customer

When my gut told me $50 was too good to be true for a sterling silver tie clip, I should have listened. Clip came tarnished - does NOT AT ALL look like the nice shiny clip in the picture. Clearly the maker doesn't care about presenting a quality product to the customer. But, more importantly, while I'm no jeweler, I do have a few authentic sterling silver items and I don't believe this tie clip is actually silver. It could have been obscured by the black tarnish but I could not find a 925 stamp anywhere on the item. The 925 stamp indicates the minimal millesimal fineness of silver (check wikipedia...) and without it a product should not be trusted.

Don't waste your money on this clip! $50 is too good to begin with. Go to your local Brooks Brothers and drop a $100 or so and get a legitimate piece.

I gave this tie bar to my husband for Christmas. It was pretty much exactly what I expected, no surprises. He liked it. :)

The box that it came in was a bit unusual, white and red with a snap closure, but if I really did not like it, I could have just used another small box.

I bought this tie clip for a present. BUYER BEWARE !!! The clip is tiny, almost like it is for childrens ties.

- does not work well with ties that are not skinny
- very soft material that bends easily
- snags ties...a lot
- expensive for what you get

The item was just what I was looking for. Simple, clean lines, sterling silver and small to go with skinny ties. Was about half the price of a very similar item from Tiffany which I priced at other e-stores. Good quality and good value.

This product was just as I had hoped - a classy silver tie bar. My boyfriend loved it and wears it all the time. It's meant for a medium-skinny width tie.

Received item promptly.Shiny surface with innumerable scratches.How could they mail an item in such poor condition? Returned without problem.

Nothing flashy here but very old-school and stylish -- I saw many tie bars from the 50's that looked just like this, only in yellow gold which just isn't very modern. I'd definitely say it was a good purchase, one that I wear quite often.
