Truly a Great Little Pumpkin-Shaped Cookbook,
By Stephen B. Cobb "Shameless Reductionist" (Nashua, New Hampshire, USA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Great Little Pumpkin Cookbook (Paperback)
This is the antithesis of the coffee-table book: paperback, pocket-sized, pumpkin-shaped, photo-less (in fact, entirely pictureless), and page after page of about 50 fantastic recipes! These are not just simple desserts (though there are several exotic ones), but spicy gourmet main dishes from around the world. I haven't seen a single one that I do not want to try. The only mark against is the lack of pictures, so you may have to use your imagination a little, though it will not impact your ability to make any of the dishes. That it is so small, unassuming, and pumpkin-shaped attests to the pure practicality and quality of the contents. If your taste tends toward the exotic, you can't go wrong with this book.

Variety of recipes, just no photos,

I gave this cookbook as a prize for a pumpkin baking contest. There's a variety of sweet and savory recipes in here. Only drawback is that there are no photos to see how wonderful they might turn out...but the surprise is half of the experience, I'm sure!

I found this book at The Shelburne Museum gift shop, and was initially skeptical. Novelty cookbooks like this often lack substance, but a quick scan through this tiny volume revealed creative recipes for savory and sweet dishes, logically categorized. I haven't cooked anything yet, but I am feeling good about this purchase. Good taste, along with high fiber and generous quantities of vitamin A.

This is an adorable little cookbook! Great for collectors and as a family pass-down item! We'll be getting much use out of it for many years.
