5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK!!!!!!, November 19, 2009

Great book to have in your library, if you're interested in learning about Black history in GENERAL (not just African American). It does a GREAT job of highlighting the wonderful achievements of Blacks, in the U.S., in Africa, and around the rest of the world. The narratives are mostly a page per person, and each page is illustrated! -- and so it makes it VERY EASY to follow, even for young people. It doesn't ramble on and get boring. I've learned SO MUCH from the book -- and I'm a University Professor! I found it in our university library, and I decided I HAD to get one for myself. I was not aware of quite a number of the great people listed, and it was quite an eye opener! As a matter of fact, I found out that some individuals that I had always thought of as white were actually BLACK! I didn't know that the author of the 3 Musketeers, and that of "The Count of Monte Cristo" was actually black! -- Alexandre Dumas. I've learned so much information that people tend to take for granted, or that the educational system has neglected for so long. Knowing this information makes me feel so proud to know, that I come from such a wonderful heritage.
