The best of everything all in one book!,
By
This review is from: The Great Origami Book (Paperback)
I look for several things when I buy an origami book: I want actual pictures of someone folding the paper, not diagrams. This book has that! Also, I look for a variety of shapes to fold. This book has flowers, snails (!), and dragons. I also look for simplicity, since I am an intermediate origamist. I had no trouble making every one of these projects work. I was delighted with the pictures, the variety, and the simplicity. It starts off with easy projects and moves on the harder ones. I highly recommend this to beginners as well as intermediates.

Hi!This book is a good starter if you want to do something with paper not necessary pure origami and if you like ornament and some usefull stuff. BUT... If you intent to purchase this book you may want to consider some points: - This book shows kirigami (cutting paper techiniques) in some models. - This book is for beginners! - The title bring us to think about a more complete book regarding origami, however the models are simple and some of the models are part of an ornament or using glue to be attached to another origami piece.

Extremely well illustrated and explained with color photos,

This review is from: The Great Origami Book (Paperback)
Easy to follow, contains models that range from very simple to rather impressive, yet all are so well explained that even a novice can create the most beautiful models without frustration.Especially great for those who have had trouble following standard origami diagrams. Each step is well explained in text and illustrated with color photos showing hands accomplishing the folds -- perfect book to use to teach origami. Particularly interesting to experienced folders are the very well done dragon, snail, horse and rider, and graceful lady - worth the price of the book themselves. BOOK CONSTRUCTION: Entire book is full color, heavyweight, glossy paper. Well-organized table of contents breaks down models by base. Includes an index at the back. Cover has pre-scored open fold at front and rear to prolong book life. Well done. I am rarely so pleased with every aspect of a book.

I purchased the book for my eleven year old son. He had brought home the same book from the library. I seen how creative he was paperfolding, so I went to Amazon.com and looked it up. I found several to choose from. The book arrived later than expected. However, my son immediately started making new papercrafts from the origami paper I had purchased from this site. I enjoy recieving the special folded projects and he is happy with the purchase of this book.

This is one of the worst origami books i've ever seen,

It's evident that the other reviewers don't know anything about origami... This is one of the most unoriginal origami books ever printed. Many of the models aren't even origami, and those that are look awkward and unrefined. Furthermore, the folded models in the photos look terrible: I've met 10 year olds that fold better than that. It's not that hard to create simple origami that is also GOOD origami... however Zulal Ayture-Scheele has failed to do that. |
