My son hates reading. I've tried getting him interested in reading for over a year now and FINALLY this book has done it! He started reading it as soon as he got it and didn't put it down until he was finished!

Since reading the Captain Underpants Series- it's been hard to find something my son will keep up with- He now wants all the speed racer books! It has some pictures, but is more chapter book than graphic novel which I like.

My son is 9 years old and he loved this book so much he did a book report for it at school. He loves the series and is on book 4!

My 7 year old son has been reluctant to read because (in his own words) he's never found anything interesting. This week he's finished 2 of the books in this series and is about 1/3 of the way through the 3rd. There are a few words he's had trouble with, especially in the bonus story which included some Hawaiian names. Aside from that, he's been able to read them independently and they've held his interest all the way through. A great find for a reluctant boy!

Our son just turned 5. This is not his first chapter book, but it's the first one he asks us to read regularly and challenges him to read on his own. There are a few illustrations, but he loves to follow the written content. For young children who love cars, it's a great chapter book/series to give.

I bought this and other Speed Racer books for a local elementary school library. The librarian said the Speed Racer series and one of the most requested books in the library.
