An Egyptologist in the Making!,
By Aliya Jafari (Cairo, Egypt.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Great Pyramid (Hardcover)
I must admit that I have thoroughly enjoyed The Great Pyramid and have learned as much from it as my six-year-old son. The book is about how the Great Pyramid of king Khofu must have been made and about the journey of his mummy, who it was bulit to entomb. Pages are full of pop-up three dimensional images of the Great Pyramid, illustrating various ways the stone must have been transported to the site and carried to the top of the pyramid. It provides hours of interactive historic information to your child in a very creative fashion. The information is engaging and precise--just right for the young minds with a short attention span to capture and retain. It works like magic. Find a secret treasure; pull the tab to learn a fact about various techniques used in the ancient Egyptian times; flip over an Egyptian god and find out what he is known for; unfold a sarcophagus and discover the process of mummification. There is no end to the fun and discovery provided by this highly recommended book; which makes it great for travelling as well. You never know: you might get an Egyptlologist in the making.
