A great Twitter resource!, October 22, 2011
This review is from: Great Quotes from Feisty Women (Paperback)
Since I focus on social media for women, I am always looking for great quotes by women. This is a great resource to keep by my desk when I need a quote - or even when I need a little inspiration. The author has done a good job researching and compiling these quotes - which I'm grateful for since it saves me some time! Its worth the investment! Now will ya put it on Kindle so I can keep it with me when I travel?)

I'm a quote collector, November 15, 2011
This review is from: Great Quotes from Feisty Women (Paperback)
The focus here for me is on the quotes and what they evoke (not the history of every feisty woman included - maybe that's another book?). I appreciated the breadth and depth - just right for a quote collector and fesity woman like me.

The perfect way to start my day..., October 22, 2011
This review is from: Great Quotes from Feisty Women (Paperback)
I have Ava's book where I can read it at the start of my day. I read one message each day. It gets me on a thought that I can ponder during the day. I like how she weaves her personal life stories in with these great quotes and messages. I liked it so much, I bought several copies for gifts. I've been through the book several times. Each time I find something new (depending on what's going on in my life at the time). Thank you for a great book, Ava!

Great title; yucky book, February 23, 2011
This review is from: Great Quotes from Feisty Women (Paperback)
This book was a friend's gift, so I was really looking forward to reading it. I was bored to tears after page three, and it didn't get any better. The writer picked quotes that were too similar, so there wasn't enough contrast. Here, you had these incredible women who lived incredible lives, and all you got was a subdued philosophy of life: "live fully, don't be self-critical because it's a waste of time, and enjoy whatever you do." Well, these women were pioneers, each in their own right...and they were dynamic...several were hellraisers....several changed history...or science...or art. The quotes didn't do justice to their spirit and their gusto. I wanted to know what made these women tick. What drove their behaviors? What were the ideas that they believed so passionately in, that they would risk so much?
I didn't get any of that in this book.
And after each short quote the author did her own writing, meandering into some teaching that she thought we all should know, and which I found simplistic at best.
If you're going to title a book "Feisty Women," then write about those women. Now that would have been a book to remember!
Ah well....
