Exactly what I was looking for...,

I was looking for the picture puzzles similar to the ones used on the game show from the past Concentration. This is perfect. Some of the puzzles are more challending than others. The plan is to use them in a group setting, so although one person alone may not be able to solve the puzzle, the others in the group may assist.

I just received this little book today, and I am totally hooked! Of the first 24 puzzles I tried (one right after the other because you can't do just one), I couldn't get six of them. The answers are in the back, but I'm not looking. I intend to decipher all 103 puzzles by myself. Some of the puzzles are easy, such as "Three Musketeers". But some of them are brain-benders, and I've yet to figure them out. As Steve Ryan writes in his short introduction, some of the puzzles are meant to "challenge the outer limits of your imagination". It's a small book, 6 1/2 inches by 5 inches. I bought this for myself and now I think I'll have to get a couple more for stocking stuffers. Each page has one puzzle, in full color with the style that I remember from the original TV Concentraton gameshow. No surprise, as Steve Ryan, who created the puzzles in this book, thought up all the rebus puzzles used in the followup to the orignal show, called "Classic Concentration". ("Classic Concentration" aired from 1987 - 1991 and was hosted by Alex Trebek!) The paper is high quality, which is good, as you don't want the puzzle on one page to be seen through to the puzzle on the back-side. I wish Ryan would publish many more of these books, because I'd buy them all. [Or, why couldn't NBC publish the puzzles used on the original show? The first version of "Concentration" aired for 3,770 daytime shows, starting in 1958.] Very highly recommended fun, great conversation starter and addicting brain builder!

Concentrate...and you'll love it.,

I remember watching Classic Concentration as a kid and these bring back memories of the entertaining puzzles Ryan drew. He's not easy, but he's not boring. IMHO, Steve Ryan is the best rebus artist. Classic Concentration was fortunate to have him work. You need to check out his other book, which is about the game show itself; it has some puzzles that are not in GRP. Two thumbs way up for GRP.
