Elusive hits like "You Light Up My Life" by Debby Boone and "My Melody of Love" by Bobby Vinton appear in their original forms. The album version of Exiles's #1 smash "Kiss You All Over" is here, as well as the hit remix of the Four Seasons' "December 1963 (Oh What a Night)." The inclusion of Maureen McGovern's "Different Worlds," the theme from the short-lived TV series "Angie," makes this CD a must-have. No re-recorded versions.

In the book, "The Worst Rock n' Roll Records Of All Time" by Jimmy Guterman and Owen O'Donnell, this CD is listed as one of the 50 worst albums ever released. So you know it's gotta be great stuff...and it is! Some of the most essential top 40 pop hits of all time turn up on this baby, including gems by Debby Boone, Bobby Vinton, Shaun Cassidy and (this being a Curb release) The Mike Curb Congregation. The drum fade that ends the MCC's "Burning Bridges" is one of pop music's finest moments. Not everything on this disc is perfect. A couple of tracks from Sammy Davis Jr. (again with the MCC) and a lackluster single by Maureen McGovern are not among my favorites, but are probably someone else's favorites. Two things you should know though: the Exile track is the full length LP version which gets old before it's done and the 4 Seasons track is the 1990's remix instead of the original 1976 single version. All in all this disc is worth buying just for Bobby Vinton's "My Melody of Love".

Yep, I bought this CD right here on Amazon, and it is quite good for its low price. I must admit that it is at least somewhat of a guilty pleasure to hear the then-sparrow (and one-hit wonder) Debby Boone singing 1977's biggest hit "You Light Up My Life" and an early '70's Wayne Newton singing the tripey "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast." However, the reason why I purchased this CD was to have the long version of the great Exile song "Kiss You All Over", which by itself is more than worth its extremely low price.
Bottom line: sure, some of this stuff is kitschy, but if you're looking for the full-length version of the above song, then where else are you going to get it for only 6 bucks???

I think the title of the CD is a little misleading but the songs suit me. Songs like Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life" didn't become huge hits because nobody liked them! Infact, that song is the reason I bought the CD. I admit it, I love the song!
