I have an LP copy of this record that I have burned on to a CD. The record was in good condition and with the Magix Cleaning software, I have made an excellant copy. I agree with all the above that this is one of the prettiest pieces of music...ever (e-mail address)

I purchased the CD "Great Sax" by Sil Austin and although Sil Austin plays the Greatest Sax, I was disappointed. The orchestra with violins take away from the Sax. I have the 45 rpm recording of "Danny Boy," and the beauty of Mr. Austin's Sax chokes me up every time I hear it even though it's scratchy and re-recorded on cassette. There is no orchestra to drown out the beauty of his music, or if it's there, it's so far in the background as to be unnoticeable.. I agree with "turtlepnt" that it will be wonderful if the powers-that-be would see fit to re-issue the original versions of "Danny Boy" as will as "Slow Walk" on a CD.

I have a LP of "Sil Austin, plays pretty for the people" I bought this back in the 60's. The music is so soothing that I wore it out. I would love to get a CD of this.

I have not listed to this album. I want to know if I can get "Sil Austin plays pretty for the people" I saw on a comment from this album that some on else would also like to get a cd for Plays pretty for the people. I really want that album

I entered this site specifically to order 'Sil Austin Plays Pretty for the People'. What a disappointment. Earlier today while riding in my car, a local radio station played the entire album. It took me back in time and I rushed home to order thhis album specifically. Hopefully, enough fans of the great Sil Austin will prompt promoters to put this wonderful album on a CD, or, at least an audiocassette.

For all those who have been, or may be in the future, buying this CD hoping to get Sil Austin's original, full-length 3:59 version of "Danny Boy" (the version also on the hit 45,) it is on "Hard to Find Orchestral Instrumentals II," Eric 11518-2, currently offered on this site. Perhaps this will do until the "Plays Pretty for People" is available on CD--if ever.

I read the reviews, and I have not heard the songs. Yet, I am disappointed because I remember Sil's original version of Danny Boy. If this album does not contain the original Danny Boy, I would not buy it. I have been searching decades for this song but I have never found the original. I would buy the whole CD just for the original Danny Boy. No one, but no one plays it like Sil Austin.

Sil Austin Plays the most fabulous instrunental version of Danny Boy I ever heard. I have it on his ALBUM "Sil Austin Plays Pretty for the People" and I want the CD but looks like it is unavaible. Must have it!

Absolutely my favorite recording. Wore out the vinyl edition long ago and replaced it but the newer endition had different cuts on it. Would love to have a cd of the original recording that included "I'll Walk Alone"

I had this tape twenty years ago. I am looking for a current copy. This tape is the greatest Sax tape of all times. If anyone knows how to get this tape, please e-mail barmore@transport.com.
