I previously viewed this program about ten years ago on PBS. It's been one that I have wished to add to my collection of travel videos. (Unfortunately, it is not on DVD). I was successful in locating the program on Amazon at a good price. When I received it within a few days of ordering it, the video arrived in excellent condition and the viewing was excellent as well.

The program was a trip down memory lane for me when I experienced my first trip to Paris nearly thirty years ago. Halle Berry's excursion and narration down the Champs Elysees really recaptured my own journey down this famous boulevard. This was filmed prior to her receiving her Oscar. She exudes a joie de vivre that I rarely see in her today, when she interviews. Ms. Berry is an utter delight!

I loved this video. It reminded me of the fun I had when I visited Paris, twice. The Champs, as the true Parisiennes call it, was one of my favorite places to shop, sightsee, and people watch. This video allows me to relive my visit to Paris and the Champs Elysees over and over again. It's a great video for anyone who plans to travel to Paris.

No super photography here. Minimal history. And future Oscar winner Halle Berry struggles to try to give the banal script some life. I thought watching this video would trigger fond memories of my visit to Paris and teach me a little something besides. No such luck. I hope the other videos in the "Great Streets" series are better this one. Rent, don't buy, this one.
