From Library Journal
This guide offers reviews of the best videos on the market for children in order to help parents select what their children watch. Every topic imaginable is covered, including animation, book-based videos, family topics, folk and fairy tales, holidays, and instructional films. In the introduction, Cella, who writes for such periodicals as Billboard and Mothering , explains her criteria for reviewing a video. The appendixes, which are particularly valuable, list 12 different "best" lists, including the best videos with positive female roles and those with positive black roles. Highly recommended for public libraries and libraries that purchase children's videos.
