This little (and it is small!) book made our trip to Yosemite! My husband and I only had about 48 hours to take in the park, this book told us what to see and how to see it. Each walk is described in detail, you know what to expect, how long it will take, and how much effort is involved! Different walks are suggested for different times of the year. Some trails aren't open in the winter, and some trails aren't as amazing in the summer (lack of water for the water falls). Reading this book will help you focus in on what you really want to see. And it covers the entire park, not just the valley. My husband had a bad cold, and I'm pretty out of shape, Gillmore kept us out of trouble each step of the way. Not only did it make a nice guide, but it makes a nice read. I've read it from cover to cover and I can't wait to get back to Yosemite to use it some more.

The Great Walks series is super. This is a guide you'll want to read cover to cover prior to your visit. The hikes are scenic and are manageable for most ages. There are usually a few challenging hikes thrown into the book as well.

We first discovered Great Walks when we were in Acadia National Park, Maine and have vowed to find similar quality books since.

I have yet to receive it. Can you help me out here? It has been about five weeks since my order.

This a great book detailing out many 'Great Walks' in Yosemite. We walked many of them, and used the guide to extend many others. The book would be more helpful if it included a map of the area, as some of the driving and trail instructions are a bit hard to follow. Would recommend it to anybody who is not a hard core hiker, but just likes the short half day hikes.
