Chen Changfen shows what a master photographer can do in his beautiful photographs of the Great Wall of China. This book stunned me with the delicate black and white images taken of this iconic place. It has a treasured place on my bookshelf. No serious photographer should be without this book in their collection.

In 2002 in Denver, Colorado, I stood in the presence of some of these photographs. I had not heard of Chen Changfen. But I found his photographs compelling, an Eastern Ansel Adams, except Chen Changfen's photos of the Great Wall moved me so much more deeply. I returned repeatedly to the exhibit, which was in association with the international Academy of Management.I love this book. In my opinion, if you like the photography of Ansel Adams, you will love the work of Chen Changfen. |
