I got a copy of this book while on a trip in Western NC as I was planning on hiking to a few falls on my vacation. Although there are not as many falls listed as in the Kevin Adams book, the copyright date on this one is much newer and I figured it would reflect recent changes for access points. I love the pictures, particularly as the author has a more dynamic style rather than blurring the motion as so many photographers seem to do. The directions are very precise, even the unmarked falls were easy to find when using this book. The trail rating system was a little confusing at first, but I got used to it quickly. Overall this is a really good book with great directions to the major waterfalls in Western NC and to several smaller but truly beautiful lesser known falls.

A few years ago, I started chasing waterfalls. I picked up Neil Regan's book while at and REI function where Neil was presenting a slide show and talking about the North Carolina Falls featured in his book. I love how the book is formatted and the directions to watefalls are up to date as many trailheads do shift or change in time. Beautiful photographs. The book is truly an inspiration to see these natural wonders.
