From Library Journal
The first volume in this set covers the Pacific Coast states, the second the Intermountain West states, the third the Rocky Mountain states, and the fourth the Great Plains states. The books set out to cover "out-of-the-mainstream recreation sites," which they do very well. They list about 1000 sites, including-less-well known parks as well as some better-known ones. Each listing includes location, how to get there (quite detailed), day use facilities (parking lot size), camping facilities, attractions, natural features, seasons, fees, phone numbers, and a "trip journal," which is a description of the site. At the back of the volume are state maps showing the location of the sites. The authors are a former management professor and a professional librarian. An excellent choice for public libraries.?George M. Jenks, Bucknell Univ., Lewisburg, PA
