About the Author

Oliver North is a Vietnam veteran awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts during his twenty-two years of service as a United States Marine. Later, he was assigned to the National Security Council staff by former President Ronald Reagan, who called North "an American hero." Today, he is a New York Times best-selling author, syndicated columnist, and host of the award-winning War Stories documentary series on the FOX News Channel. North has four children, eleven grandchildren, and lives with his wife in Virginia.

This is a beautiful book. I keep buying more copies so I can give to others. This is such a touching, soul-moving story of God's protection to a Marine Batallion who put their faith and trust where it could not fail. The experiences of these soldiers will 'blow you away'!

I found this book while browsing in my local bookstore. It caught my attention, and I picked it up to thumb through the pages. Imagine my surprise when I found that the photographs had been taken by my college photojournalism teacher! This is a well written, masterfully photographed collection of stories about faith in times of war. It is worth the read to understand the sacrifices and challenges experienced by our military personnel. North, Horn, and Venneman are to be commended.

A wonderful collection of stories about the men and women who put their lives on the line for our country. This book shares their lives and their faith as Christians. After I read the book (which I did in one sitting) I had to go back and just take in the great pictures. They make you feel as if you are with the Sailors on the flight deck or the Chaplain in the sand. You could not ask for a better book.
