Eye Opening,
By amyh@olypen.com (Washington State) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Greater Health God's Way: Seven Steps to Inner and Outer Beauty (Paperback)
When I read this book God had already been working on my heart to begin moving myself and my family toward better health. Yet I had no idea how. The book was revolutionary to me. I had never heard of how fasting benefits health, and how eating pure food can make such a difference in health. I've been changing my pattern of eating and living in ways suggested by Stormie and have noticed a lot of changes in the way I feel. I HIGHLY recommend this book! It was truely eye opening to me, a person who was raised on fast food and the easy way to everything!

The Proof is in the Pudding,
By
This review is from: Greater Health God's Way: Seven Steps to Inner and Outer Beauty (Paperback)
This is such an incredible book, for so many reasons. Foremost is that Omartian concentrates on healthy living in general, and only one chapter is about food. Only one chapter is about exercise. So food and exercise are important, but they aren't idols, and neither is having a "perfect" body. Living well is what's important (including good relationships, good rest, good sleep, fresh air, etc.), and not just living well in an Epicurean sense, but according to the divine will and wisdom. As a result, this book is encouraging rather than condemning. You're probably already doing some of the steps. When I first started, I went all the way with Omartian's all-natural recommendations; since then I've modified her suggestions somewhat, but she helped me make the break and start making changes. The proof is in the pudding: almost two years after reading this book and putting it into practice, I look and feel like a different person.

God's way is the only way!,

I recently read this book in my desperation to lose weight. What I have gained from reading this book surpasses any weight that I will lose. This book should be read by everyone, regardless of your weight. If you truly desire to be healthy and to do it God's way, this is a book you must read. I have been blessed and inspired by the revelation of living a lifestyle of health.

CHAPTER 1 (ONE) ALONE WAS WORTH THE WHOLE BOOK,

Stormie's books are great and I love this one as well. She is straight shooter focused on a Godly life and her suggestions are simple yet profoundly accurate. It is worth your time to read especially the first chapter.

Simple and Right On,
By Mirrah M. (Pacific Northwest) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Greater Health God's Way: Seven Steps to Inner and Outer Beauty (Paperback)
I first purchased this book in 1985. I followed Stormies guidelines and experienced great results. However, a busy schedule, stress, job changes and years later, I found myself not following the steps and unhealthy and overweight. I would pick up the latest books on weight control and eating, anything that was new and flashy. Though they all worked to a degree, it was only temporary, and were getting more and more complicated. It was just recently I picked up my old 1985 copy of this book and it was like a breath of fresh air. How could I have gotten so off track about good health being straighforward? It is more than just eating well and exercising, which is important, but Stormie points out how the WHOLE person must be dealth with. She includes chapters on restful sleep, fresh air and sunshine, dealing effectively with stress, drinking pure water, and our spirituality. She is straighforward with each of the seven steps, and doesn't include buzz words and the designer attitude of diets today. She begins her book describing her own struggles of being unhealthy and how she overcame them with the steps she presents in her book. She writes from a perspective of someone who's been there. Since my edition is from 1985, it goes to show how achieving good health doesn't really change all that much, even though my copy is 20 years old. Stormie's steps are just as prevelant today as they were then. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is tired and confused with all the health and diet books out there. Stormie's seven steps are simple and work!

This is one of the most balanced and motivating books on health I have found! Not only will you be convinced of the necessity to follow these steps, but you will be motivated to implement them in your daily life. This book is a must for those seeking to follow God and serve Him to the fullest!

Wow, a novel concept!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Greater Health God's Way: Seven Steps to Health, Youthfulness, and Vitality (Paperback)
I was so pleased to finally find a book written by someone who also received the revelation that it's important for Christians to take care of themselves! And not just for weight loss (this is not another weight loss book), but for all-over, inside/outside glowing health. How are we supposed to completely fulfill God's call on our lives if we're sick or depressed all the time, if our appearance gives a bad testimony, or if we die prematurely? I did find Stormie's plan a bit rigid (thus the 8 instead of a 10 rating), but you can adapt it to suit yourself as I have--exposure to the principles she mentions is more than worthwhile. I work with people struggling with eating disorders, and I consider this book basically a MUST READ

Awesome!,

I haven't even read the entire book yet. I'm only half way through after one evening of reading. But what I have read so far, I can't wait to finish. She is so inspiring and what she has to say really makes sense. I'm going to recommend this book to my MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers) an International Christian based mothers group. Stormie, thanks for your words of inspiration.

Honestly I have not finished the book as yet. I read parts of the book and it is wonderful. I lead a women's ministry and the information Stormie presents will be helpful to all the women in our church. God bless her for writing this book.
